As a fun market distraction I've been digging into the Sui game @faithdotgg recently, to figure out best betting practices for my own entertainment and the benefit of the Mirai Morons telegram. For those unaware, Faith is a game on Sui built by @funkii. Superficially the game seems simple, you bet one or more squares, and hope you get lucky in the random draw. Under the hood, however, there is a ton more going on. The lifeblood of the game is the $faith token, which gets emitted to winning players, predominantly through Miracles, a progressive jackpot. For most players, the actual game isn't hitting the winning square, but rather mining $faith as cheaply as possible. The token has a market price after all, supported by Faith buybacks from fees. The sport is have a lower cost basis by mining $faith, through a combination of Miracle strategies, patience and staking multipliers. This leaves the main question: should you play the game? Immediate after launch FOMO saw $faith price get pumped to completely unsustainable prices at the current emission level. By now price has dropped significantly and has stabilized around roughly 0.03 $SUI. Turns out, the average price that people are currently mining at is still almost half that! And since the treasury sits at a staggering 40k $SUI reserve, there isn't as much nit-flipping (and sell pressure) anymore, because people rather see the current emission level as an investment phase, ahead of emission dropping, new game features and treasury deployment.
