A great visual to think more about how @Ready4rigor defines culturally responsive teaching, and how to go beyond surface and shallow culture to get at the deep stuff. Thanks to @carlota_holder for the beautiful #sketchnote #edchat #culturallyrelevant

Latest in our series on whole-class feedback: for whole-class feedback to be effective, it has to be a 'recipe for future action', not a statement. It can't just be a whole-class written comment - these are just as unhelpful as individual written comments! blog.nomoremarking.com/whole…

When I started researching my book #TheKnowledgeGap, a veteran educator told me: “When the teacher is talking, the students aren’t learning.” Really threw me for a loop!

My latest column in @tes on true but useless feedback. It doesn't help to give pupils mark scheme phrases like 'be more systematic' or 'make more insightful inferences'. As @dylanwiliam has said, it's like telling an unsuccessful comedian to 'be funnier'. tes.com/news/how-much-your-f…
