You can already sense this phenomenon - people are given the ability to block or shadowban others on Instagram: a scrap of agency over one's shrinking dominion, an acknowledgment of just how powerless the human has become and how satisfying it would be to be given that power back

Was it avoidable? - of course. But the script was given to us by hollywood, and being the creators we are, we created the script from our dashed hopes and darkest fears. I can't know what level of intention is required to survive - something like bending time itself

The best leading indicator for world events for parents is their own children. The whole world can be read in their hopes and fears. But parents are usually stuck in the cavalier "I know best" trap, preferring to trust a complete stranger reading a script on TV - what a waste

I feel that most arguments in families just comes down to the simple need to be understood.
The argument is only settled when decades have passed, and the outcomes of decisions can be seen in full - silently, and too late, one concedes that the other was right

Can confirm: Moon and Mars were visible from Earth, but not colonized in any way. Space remained as unexplored as today, no traveling through black holes or shaking hands with aliens. There was no circulating currency, credit system or digital money

The coolest thing I saw was a vehicle 'grown' in one piece of alloy from a single crystal, programmed to form gradated striations of different alloys in the same piece when frequencies are input. I saw no seams, joints or bolts, and even children could operate the process
