I wrote yesterday how wrong it feels disabled people are rejected for help - only to have it reinstated once I chase it up. Carly is a classic example. I broke the story with The Guardian. Ch4 picked it up. Then DWP gave her benefits back. That’s not a functioning welfare state.

Astonished this is not already the case, I inherited 2 tower blocks in a stock transfer and it was obvious once restored there would need detailed evacuation plans communicated and understood by all residents. The idea LA’s don’t have this in tower blocks is mind numbing.

Shocking the number of people I've met in their homes since I set up residents association. Many putting up with leaks, damp, black mould, they had given up, lost faith. No credit on their phone, no electricity, no heating, living hand to mouth. #Austerity

Agree, we stopped entering housing sector awards a few years ago. We very occasionally do wider customer service ones for learning/networking from other sectors. But awards is just an industry now.

Have decided to name and shame all social housing providers who take Ground 8 proceedings (mandatory) against vulnerable tenants on Universal Credit. Todays landlord who should be ashamed is @catalysthousing
