Yesterday’s announcement from
@SecWar @PeteHegseth on the $1B plan to purchase small, lethal drones over the next two years marks an inflection point for the entire U.S. drone ecosystem.
This is a clear path to scale American manufacturing, cut procurement delays, and accelerate fielding of small unmanned systems across every branch of the military.
“We cannot afford to shoot down cheap drones with $2M missiles. We ourselves must be able to field large quantities of capable attack drones.” Sec. Hegseth said.
This announcement builds on momentum from the U.S. Army's Transformation in Contact (TiC) and other similar initiatives. Earlier this year, PDW received an award from the U.S. Army to supply C100 UAS and Multi-Mission Payloads in support of TiC.
This program is a mandate to American drone companies to innovate faster and accelerate our deployment of combat robotics to the units that need them.
We will continue to deliver for the warfighter with the speed, reliability, and focus that this moment requires.
