Test post, please ignore The internet told me that this style of rendering is impossible, so this game I'm working on, doesn't exist.

Compute poor and 20k worth of compute owned. I'm probably going to spend another 50 by the end of this year for my personal stuff

The entire landscape is a single quad. I am INSIDE the Parallax Occlusion Map. Advanced SPOM? Inspired by (bad?) analysis of Crimson Desert.

Make it. Make it better. Make it slower. Make it faster. Make it better. Make it slower. Make it faster.

“We’ve done the analysis, reusable rockets aren’t economic.” SpaceX makes reusable rockets economic. “We’ve done the analysis satellite internet isn’t economic. The antenna alone is tens of thousands of dollars. The cost to manage a constellation that size, the radiation, the space hardened solar cost…” Satellite internet appears to be a very good business with antennas in the $100 range. “We’ve done the analysis, orbital data centers aren’t economic. The radiators, launch costs, the radiation, the solar…” You are here.

The GUI allows it. The GPU will not forgive you

That's not a shader. That's a small database query per vertex.

I'm creating a Laser Engraver sim that can preview engravings before I make them

@yacineMTB This isn't my first water sim But it is my first running inside a POM shader with real depth and my camera can go inside :)

In China, driverless delivery vans have become a total meme, they plow through crumbling roads, fresh concrete, motorcycles, anything. Nothing stops them.

Waymo: this is fine
Hmmm, so this lot flooded but the Waymo still drove in it. I mean, it managed it fine but I was a bit concerned at first.

Dudes! Steam Frame has multiple dedicated wireless adapters It's unlocked linux... Can create headset to headset direct connections. Unlocks so much potential for: 1. Large scale group VR. Think lasertag but themed in any way you want 2. Robotics. Live stream the robot view into the headset, stream the VR controls to the robot. Tight low latency in both directions 3. Update dev builds from machine right onto headset with dedicated network 4. Mesh networking for even larger scale group VR, no other hardware needed, just Steam Frames 5. Stream the view from headset to another display 6. Stream a Couch mode view rendered from the headset to another display. Think 4 players with controllers VS one person in VR

This statement is 100% correct and accurate, and what’s also correct is that everyone is now able to 3d print their phone cases and bake their own bread.
Everyone is going to be able to vibe code video games by the end of 2025
