Some of us knew TN finances were in a precarious position and have been repeatedly pointing out. But coming from the official sources, it carries authenticity. Is this fixable? Yes - with a lot of austerity measures. BUT... unfortunately TVK CM Joseph Vijay has also promised too much to the electorate to win the elections. Rs 2500 to every woman/household, free bus ride for women AND men, gold for marriage, gold for children born (அண்ணா சீர், மாமா சீர்), unemployment allowance to his core voters...

An insanely rigged economy is when someone can work in government their entire life, never produce anything of value, and end up a millionaire with three homes while bemoaning the “oligarchy.”
THE INSANELY RIGGED ECONOMY Yesterday, while tens of millions of families were struggling to pay for rent, food, healthcare, childcare and gas, seven of Trump's oligarchic friends became $210 billion richer. Not last week. Not over the past decade. In less than 24 hours, these 7 men, the wealthiest people on earth, became $210 billion richer. Incredibly, since Trump was elected on November 5, 2024, these 7 men, all Big Tech Oligarchs, have become more than $1.5 trillion richer and are now collectively worth over $2.8 trillion. Meanwhile, we have the highest rate of childhood poverty of any other wealthy nation, young adults have a lower standard of living than their parents and over 20% of our seniors are trying to survive on an annual income of $15,000 a year or less. Yes. We are living in an oligarchy. A Good Day for Trump’s Friends: Yesterday, Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, got $164.8 billion richer and is now worth $1.4 trillion. He’s worth $1.1 trillion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Larry Page, the second wealthiest man in the world, gained $7.61 billion in wealth and is now worth $314 billion. He’s worth $161 billion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Sergey Brin, the third richest man in the world, got $7.01 billion richer and is now worth $292 billion. He’s worth $148 billion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Jeff Bezos, the fourth richest man in the world, gained $6.96 billion in wealth and is now worth $267 billion. He’s worth $46 billion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Larry Ellison, the fifth wealthiest man in the world, gained $8.92 billion in wealth and is now worth $247 billion. He’s worth $63 billion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Michael Dell, the sixth richest man in the world, got $5.86 billion richer and is now worth $218 billion. He’s worth $101 billion more than on Election Day. Yesterday, Mark Zuckerberg, the seventh richest man in the world, gained $9.16 billion in wealth and is now worth $211 billion. He’s worth $8 billion more than on Election Day. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best: “Call it democracy or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all of God’s children.”

Queen has seen everything one can possibly see as a Sri Lankan player. She now understands the ephemeral nature of human life and that craving is the root of grief. She is enlightened enough now to accept both an unlikely win and SL choking in predictable fashions.
I am still in 2024 when Chamari Athapaththu hadn't discovered inner peace and was pacing about the dugout hoping her girls would seal the final. 3 needed off 5. Sophie Devine has the ball. #T20WorldCup

SL prioritise wins over giving opportunities, experiments, and match simulation. Other teams should not emulate this short-term mentality.
SL is one team that is investing heavily on their U19 & A tours compared to others. And I hope this win will be an eyeopener.

SL have beaten the West Indies twice this year. If they beat them again, then they have a good chance of making it to the final four. They are not the kind of side you would want in the semis, though, and it will hurt SL in the long term given the complacency of Sri Lankans.

A team winning yesterday, women's team winning today and Sri Lankans are going be at their toxic best for a few days. All of a sudden, everything will be hunky dory, their system will be one of the best in the world and their teams are World Cup contenders.

It's always good to see a lower-order Sri Lankan batter winning a match by scoring at a rapid rate. Nilakshi isn't a exactly hitter but her rate of scoring has been good since last year.

Ranking the greatest captains in cricket is never easy, but leaving out one iconic Test leader makes this list hard to accept. One out. One in. What's your cricket call?
