The DBC Research & Teaching Department at UCL GOS ICH brings together scientists & their research into key processes in normal development & childhood diseases.
Inspirational combination of neural tube research with teaching. What a fantastic opportunity for the participants! Delighted to see this in Dev Bio

Congratulations to @daniyal_jafree from @DBC_ICH, @GoshRenal and @RenalUCL for excellent basic science oral abstract presentation covering the role of lymphatics in allograft inflammation and rejection noting the tolerogenic immune profile of lymphatics @ESOTtransplant#ESOT2025
A great @_BSGCT Annual Conference for the lab with Marily presenting her MRes data on airway basal cell transduction and @Jess0rr winning the Fairbairn Award for her talk on basal cell expansion and transplantation 👏
We have Cambridge Bioscience exhibiting at @UCLchildhealth today, come and have a chat about DNA and RNA purification made refreshingly simple over a bottle of apple and elderflower juice #37HGM

Thrilled to share a new output from my PhD in David Long’s @UCL_ICH_Kidney lab @UCLchildhealth, published in @DMM_Journaldoi.org/10.1242/dmm.052024
We studied kidney microvascular changes in polycystic kidney disease (PKD), the most common genetic cause of kidney failure (1/5)
As part of #BritishScienceWeek, we’re shining a spotlight on Emily Moore, a dedicated PhD student at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.
Emily’s research is investigating new treatments for children with kidney disease by studying glomerulosclerosis, which involves damage to the tiny blood vessels where blood is filtered by the kidney.
Under the supervision of Dr. Jennie Chandler (who we proudly celebrated on #InternationalWomensDay), Emily’s work is helping drive progress toward our mission of ending kidney disease.
Thank you, Emily, for your hard work and commitment to making a difference!

We are shining a spotlight on Dr Jennie Chandler for #InternationalWomensDay!
As a recipient of a Kidney Research UK intermediate fellowship grant, Jennie is leading ground-breaking research within the kidney development and disease group at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.
Her work is driving progress to improve treatment options for childhood kidney disease, bringing hope to lots of families.
Beyond her research, Jennie is an advocate for our mission, regularly attending events to share her knowledge and inspire others.
We are incredibly grateful for Jennie’s dedication, passion, and commitment to making a difference. Thank you, Jennie! 💜
