Mike Breen: "IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! KNICK FANS, THIS IS NOT A DREAM! YOUR LONG, LONG WAIT HAS ENDED! GO AHEAD AND CRY! AFTER 53 YEARS, THE KNICKS ARE FINALLY NBA CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN!" 🏀🏆🎙️
Congrats to the Knicks for finally ending a 53-year championship drought.
Longest active title droughts in major North American sports:
• Cardinals — 79 years (1947) • Guardians — 78 years (1948) • Kings — 75 years (1951) • Lions — 69 years (1957) • Hawks — 68 years (1958)
After more than half a century, New York is finally off the list.
In the merit of all the previous generations—Patrick Ewing, Starks, LJ, Melo, Oakley, Latrell—in the merit of all the fans who waited, never gave up — in the merit of this incredible squad, brothers in arms—the New York Knicks are once again NBA champions.
Mazel Tov! Mazel Tov!

Why did I return to his Torah this Shabbos?
Long story short, I am finishing a book on the Talmud—an essay on each tractate that I began with this Daf Yomi cycle and he has a piece in tractate Kinnim—a notoriously difficult mesechta—that is honestly one of the most profound pieces of Torah I have ever read.
His writing style is quite unique less flowery than Rav Kook but both new and old Hebrew — modern, rabbinic, almost Nachmandian.
Structure is quite different than most other Torah writing. More like essays. Clear discipline in citing only from Chazal and classical Rishonim but footnotes make it clear that yes, he’s aware that achronim may discuss this as well.
It’s genuinely a privilege that we have such a serous Torah scholar within our midst just posting on social media. If you’re not familiar with him or his Torah I would urge you to do so. It’s sweet, profound, substantive, but never feel ideological. Serious analysis that is willing to go where the sources take him.
כן ירבו כמותו בישראל!
I wasn’t clear enough.
When I said “move on” I meant from the details of *this* specific case. Divorce as now finalized so further discussion at this point is just gossip.
Continue to advocate for those in need of gittin and anyone in a chained marriage.
