AI-enabled monitoring towers installed at four strategic locations are helping mitigate Human–Elephant Conflict (HEC) and monitor elephant movement near railway lines. The system automatically detects elephants, other wildlife, trains, vehicles, and human presence, generating real-time alerts to prevent elephant–train collisions and facilitate early conflict mitigation. A dedicated 24×7 Control Room at the Division Office ensures continuous monitoring and rapid response. On 09 June 2026, the AJY team visited Bhagirathipur VSS, Durgapur VSS, Kisinda VSS, Antulia VSS, Tentuli VSS, and Para Banadurga VSS under Jarapada Range. During the visit, paper plate-making machines were installed in the respective VSSs, and hands-on training was imparted to the beneficiaries on machine operation, maintenance, and the production of paper plates. 🚫 ZERO TOLERANCE AGAINST ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF FOREST PRODUCE 🚫 On 8th June 2026 at approximately 5:00 PM, acting on reliable source information, the RO, Jarapada, and his team conducted a successful enforcement operation near Kanjara Village under Jarapada Beat, Jarapada Section of Jarapada Range. During the operation, one Pick-Up Van (Regd. No. OD 15 V 0299) was intercepted and seized while illegally transporting 240 bundles of Kendu leaf weighing approximately 12 quintals. The driver managed to flee from the spot before being apprehended. The seized vehicle and Kendu leaf have been brought to the Jarapada Range Office with the assistance of Angul Range staff. A UDC No. 02J of 2026–27 case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
