Delighted & humbled to have been selected for promotion to Maj Gen and appointment as DCOS (Sp). Very touched by the kind messages received since the news broke, especially from colleagues & veterans. Wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of Dee, Oisín and Síofra xxx

Situation Update on Irish Defence Forces serving with overseas missions in Lebanon for family members The Defence Forces reconfirms that all personnel in Lebanon are well and accounted for. This is a challenging time and we recognise that this is an exceptional generation of soldiers. Their resilience and unwavering commitment to peace in a volatile region is commendable, and it is something that their families and our nation can be immensely proud of. Despite the heightened tensions and recent kinetic activity in the area, our troops continue to perform their duties with professionalism and courage. They are the eyes and ears of the international community, working diligently to create the space for diplomacy and the delivery of humanitarian aid, whilst ensuring their own safety. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families of our personnel for their support and understanding during this critical mission. Your strength enables our soldiers to carry out their roles effectively. We will continue to keep you updated on any developments, and thank you for your continued support.

Saturday saw the Defence Forces Family Day take place in Dublin zoo, an event dedicated to our incredible military families who have loved ones overseas. It was a day filled with fun and memorable experiences for all who attended. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the organisers in the DF INFO OFFICE and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this day a special one. Your dedication and enthusiasm ensured that every family had a wonderful time. To our military families, their strength and resilience inspire us every day. This event was a small token of our appreciation for their sacrifices and unwavering support for us. We hope the day brought smiles and joy to you and your loved ones. The Family Day was a reminder of the importance of community and support, especially for those with family members serving overseas. Let's cherish the memories from Dublin zoo and continue to support each other. Operation Carousel, carried out by the Defence Forces Transport Corps, will facilitate the safe and secure movement of thirty ex- Defence Forces’ vehicles to the International Donor Coordination Cell in Rzeszów, Poland, as part of Ireland’s European Peace Facility contribution. The donation represents an element of Ireland’s non-lethal aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces following Russia’s full invasion of Ukraine in 2022 . The operation by fifty-four Transport Corps' personnel, will see the vehicles moved over four convoys in the next month, demonstrating the professional planning, management and logistic s skills of the Defence Force's leading Combat Service Support echelon. #military #combatservicesupport #transport #donation
