Dear men...
Values alone are not enough. Values must be structured.
That is why we can have strong values but empty pockets. We can have deep beliefs but weak economies. We can have powerful traditions but no systems that transfer wealth, knowledge, ownership, and opportunity to the next generation.
Our children must not only inherit our values. They must inherit the structures that make those values productive.
A value without a structure remains a slogan.A value with a structure becomes an economy.

Watching our children circle the fire today, Laughing, learning, holding hands. I was reminded that some lessons don’t need classrooms.
As we celebrated Makar Sankranti, Pongal, and Bihu, the day unfolded with quiet meaning. Festivals like these teach without instruction. They teach togetherness, gratitude, rhythm, and respect for tradition. They show children how joy can be shared, how community feels, and how culture lives through participation.
At KiiT International School, moments like these matter as much as milestones. Because education is not only about what children know, but how they grow emotionally, socially, and together.
Grateful for a day filled with warmth, colour, and many small moments of belonging.

Congratulations to our Defence Forces Values Champions, recognised at a recent ceremony presided over by Chief of Staff Lt Gen Rossa Mulcahy, with guest of honour Mr Jonathon Shackleton.
Our organisational values are the centre of gravity of Óglaigh na hÉireann, shaping our leadership, guiding our mission, and sustaining the trust placed in us by the Irish people. Respect, loyalty, selflessness, physical courage, moral courage and integrity are lived daily by our Values Champions, who lead by example and inspire confidence across the Defence Forces.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lt Gen Mulcahy said:
“Our Values Champions embody the very best of Óglaigh na hÉireann. By demonstrating our core values in everything they do, they strengthen our organisation, enhance trust, and help drive our vision to defend our State, transform our Forces, and value our people.”
