There’s something almost perfect about
@dflow being acquired by
@moonpay, because ever since I joined four months ago, it’s felt like we’ve been on a rocket to the moon.
In that short time, I watched our small team:
- process more than $50B in onchain trading volume
- become the first aggregator to surpass Jupiter in daily trading volume on Solana
- build the first system that fully tokenizes Kalshi prediction markets onchain
- power execution across hundreds of apps and millions of traders
- go all in on agent-driven trading infrastructure
What’s interesting for me personally, having worked in tech since the late 90s, is how familiar this all feels.
In the Web1 era, most people outside our San Francisco bubble didn’t understand the internet, let alone believe it would reshape the world. The challenge wasn’t only technical. We were building with immature technology while also trying to convince society that any of it mattered.
During the Web2 era, I built a YouTube channel that grew to 650K subscribers. That chapter gave me opportunities to travel the world and attend intimate workshops with people like Spike Lee and Malala Yousafzai. The internet had gone mainstream by then, and the social battle had been won.
When I entered Web3 in 2022, it felt like stepping back into 1996 again.
The tech was early. Sometimes things worked... often they didn’t. The infrastructure was fragmented. And once again, there was this uphill battle of trying to explain why decentralized, permissionless systems mattered at all.
But now I’m watching the same pattern repeat.
Just as Web1 matured into mass adoption, Web3 is doing the same. The apps are getting better... and the infrastructure is stabilizing. And the people building in this space are shipping systems that operate at global scale.
DFlow achieved all of this with a tiny, highly focused team.
Now we join forces with MoonPay.
We’re still the same cracked team obsessed with solving hard problems, but now we’re adding distribution, reach, and resources at a completely different scale.
Same fire... more fuel.
As always, my DMs are open. If you’re building on Solana and want to win, let’s talk.
