Marginalised identity? He’s a hugely privileged young man who has post grad degrees from two leading universities (Trinity College Dublin and St Andrews) and is now a parliamentarian in a country where he is not (yet) a permanent resident. How many working class women are hidden in the “quiet corners” with no voice?
'When people see people in positions of power who belong to the marginalised identities that they've only seen in quiet corners, there is an element of pride there' Scotland's first openly non-binary MSP has said they hope more transgender people will seek election 👇

So the Greens and SNP have joined forces to block a Scottish Parliamentary Inquiry into the SNPs finances. I wonder if they would’ve had the numbers had this all come out before the election? It was blocked so it didn’t influence the election. Absolutely shocking.

The attack in Belfast was horrific. Justice must be done, but there is never any excuse for violence, racism or hate. Scotland belongs to all of us, and together we must defeat division.

Awkward. Speaking in parliament in 2022, John Swinney railed against the economic illiteracy of people suggesting he had the right to spend ringfenced money on other things.

The Scottish Greens’ ill-advised attempt to imply @ProfJMitchell’s support comes back to bite them as @jackiebmsp sums up for Scottish Labour.
Let me be very clear. I do NOT support the Green amendment. It is an attempt to evade the very serious issues that require focus on SNP financial mismanagement.

It had to happen ..'honest' John trips himself up. The new DepFM almost in tears. Not a great master class in how to handle the press. Truth will out.
Where populism always ends up. Denying its own statements But the silence of SNP [and Green]MSPs is deafening

£400k stolen by Murrell. £600k SNP cash missing. £500k spent by Swinney on a case against Salmond he knew he couldn’t win. Most Scots can’t afford to go to the World Cup. Who is paying for this trip? The First Minister isn’t supporting Scotland he is taking the piss out of us.
Well done to @ScotlandNT on a fantastic 4-1 win today. 👏 Really excited to join the Tartan Army for the World Cup. Let’s do this! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Reform formerly the Brexit Party/ UKIP dog whistle the idea that immigration is the problem. Scapegoating minorities absolves you of any responsibility & negates addesssing the real issues we face here e.g. child poverty, lack of housing/investment Get a grip, we see you
Why is it acceptable that schoolgirls are being issued rape alarms due to illegal migrants? Dumfries deserves answers - and as your MSP I intend on getting them.

Reform UK were rejected by more than 70% of voters yesterday, and the media is treating the result as terminal for Labour while almost entirely ignoring the fact that most people said no to the hatred, the division and the bigotry. That is the actual story.

The SNP vote fell by 9.5% (constituency) and 12.25% (region) - they benefitted from the Greens not standing in many constituencies and Reform taking a chunk of the anti SNP constituency vote - this leaves votes spread so no party has enough to defeat the SNP candidate

Proof that democracy can hold out and come good again 🇭🇺
Hungary’s parliament sings “Ode to Joy” — the anthem of Europe — after Péter Magyar is sworn in as prime minister. Hungary is once again a proud member of the European Union.

In D&G Council we recognise this and we have declared a Health & Social Care emergency in the region. We are still waiting for a date for a constructive meeting with the Cab Sec for Health & Social Care.
The new Scottish Government must make health and social care its first priority. scotsman.com/news/opinion/co…
