Marlowe Stoudamire joins the ancestors. The 43-year-old had experienced COVID-19. Stoudamire had worked at @skillmanfound, and led @DHSDetroit award-winning Detroit 67 project, commemorating 50th anniversary of the 1967 uprising.

#OTD in 1896, Charles Brady King drove his 4-wheeled vehicle for the 1st time in Detroit. Featuring a 4-cylinder, 4-cycle, gas engine of his own design, Brady's was the 1st car ever driven on the streets of Detroit. A replica is on display at @DHSDetroit. #ThisDayInAutoHeritage
📝 Please note! The Detroit Historical Museum will be CLOSED to the public tomorrow, Saturday 3/1 for the annual Michigan History Day District 10 competition. Students will present their projects for judging on this year's theme - rights and responsibilities in history.
Michigan History Day is a year-long educational program of the Historical Society of Michigan that encourages students to explore local, state, national & world history. Winners in the Junior & Senior categories will move on to compete in National History Day in College Park, MD.
