If the power centers of your opposition a) depend on your participation and b) have proven to consistently act in bad faith, speaking nothing to them is far more powerful than speaking truth to them.

You can tell what a censorious hellhole Musk has turned Twitter into by the number of people running around openly insulting him on the platform, decrying him as evil and demanding that his money be taken away and redistributed, who aren’t being punished in any way. 1984 stuff

Ladies, the real reason to go to church is to hear God’s Word and receive the forgiveness of sins and strengthening of faith in the Sacraments. BUT ALSO, solid Christian churches like my LCMS Lutheran congregation have way more young men than women. Come get a man, y’all!

If "black boys have boundaries" that demand unique respect or submission then a "cultural script that [teaches] black boys are the ones to be feared" is entirely necessary. You can't insist on the former and then lament the latter, unless intellectual cannibalism is the goal.
"Dear Jeff Metcalf: Your Son Is Dead Because You Failed to Teach Him That Black Boys Have Boundaries" If you don't understand reactions like these, it's worth studying critical race theory and the language of anti-racism discourse. A few quotes from Prof. Patton's article: 1/

If I’m reading Twitter correctly, we’re 12 hours away from an Iran peace deal for the 36th time and Spencer Pratt has a fer real audio recording that’s gonna save Los Angeles.

You have frequently claimed that Extreme weather (fires, floods, powerful hurricanes) are part of the new normal. Observational Science does not support this. That makes you a science denier.

This Godless FREAK says climate should be static, men can have babies -- and he calls child abuse and sacrifice not only "healthcare" but moral imperatives. He's literally psychotic so it's no wonder he conflates the essence of science (questioning) with its denial.
If I were ever abducted by Aliens, the first thing I’d ask is whether they came from a planet where people also deny science.

Coolest thing about the 6 cities I've lived in is how if you add them all up you get 6.

So many people have the mind-set that they will be really happy and enjoy life when. When they go on vacation, when the kids are older, when they get higher on the ladder of success at work, when they get married—the list could go on and on. I can relate to this because there was a time when even though I really loved being in the ministry, I wasn’t enjoying the daily responsibilities and activities it involved. I had to learn to live in the moment and enjoy what God was doing in me and through me now, not when the conference was over or when I could go on vacation. I really want you to get this: God wants you to enjoy your life now, not when. You may be having a tough day, but don’t wait until another day to find some joy. Look for something good in each day.

I'm a Bible-believing Christian. I fear nothing. And when I say, "Jesus take the wheel," I f%@king mean it. But if I was forced to worry about AGI, I'd land here... Stupid people for decades have said, "I don't know how we/you survived without cell phones." My solution to an emerging AGI threat would simply be, "I don't know how we survive *with* 'cell phones.' It's time to shut it all down." No one would listen, of course. But as is often the case, mine would nevertheless again be the right answer.

I've eaten many and feel great about it. The only thing I feel bad about this week is I watched a pig get butchered and left in a steaming pile of blood of flesh, discarded entirely. It was all metaphoric but, nevertheless, I enjoyed it. You, Jesse Ridgway, were the pig.
How many animals have you eaten this past week? Slaughtered just for you. Are you a second-hand murderer as well? Wouldn’t you agree that a cow or pig crying and screaming as its throat is slit has significantly more consciousness than an 18-week old fetus? “But it’s different because we EAT them and they’re not human…We’re made in God’s image.” - will this be some version of the response thou Holy one?

If covid hysterrorism -- in which "public health" "experts" weaponized the Made in China virus to do the MOST POSSIBLE collateral damage, all to damage Trump and punish the nation that elected him and was poised to do so again -- were 9/11, Amy Acton would be one of the hijackers. But instead of going away when her plane crashed and burned, she's running for governor in Ohio.
For far too long, this state has given tax cuts to special interests and wealthy elites over working families in this state. That’s why, as governor, my number one priority will be to secure a tax cut for Ohio’s working families to put money back in their pockets, lift families out of poverty, and make sure Ohioans see their hard work pay off.

Imagine a wolf is gnawing your legs off, and you're frantically looking for a tourniquet to slow the bleeding and wolf repellent to shue it away and lecturing the people who are cheering it on. Meanwhile you'll soon have no legs left. And there's a gun right next to you. You just imagined the GOP going after leftists and their acolytes while ignoring entirely the legacy media that protects and enables them.
ActBlue's CEO published an op-ed on why she's pleading the 5th today during @HouseAdmin's hearing. They allegedly allowed foreign donations to Democrats. They lied to Congress about it. Now they want to stay silent. We will keep digging for the truth.

Never heard of Gordon until he passed away (a nod to his elite prestige and my lack of proximity to it), but this is an excellent observation. My mom once told me, "Man makes a plan, and God laughs," and I think about that almost daily.
“I don’t think history teaches a lot of little lessons, frankly. I think it teaches one big lesson, which is that nothing really ever works out the way the perpetrators intend. I can’t think of any major event in the history of the world that ever turned out the way the participants who launched it expected.” -- Gordon Wood (RIP)

I don't really follow this but it sounds a lot like the black chicks on CNN and [then] MSNBC who would viciously snap, "If I say it's racist, because it looks and feels that way to me, then it's racist."

It’s really very simple. If a whole bunch of Americans think that the existing process is illegitimate, then it actually is illegitimate. That’s how this stuff works. You don’t get to decide that it’s not illegitimate, because you know that there’s a perfectly good explanation for all of it and therefore nobody should really care. If they care, then they care. And if people care, then it’s illegitimate. That’s actually just true by definition. The people who think it’s illegitimate are basically correct by definition. If a bunch of people in your country think that your election system is illegitimate, then it is illegitimate. That’s what illegitimate means in this context.

As my older brother has long -- usually unsympathetically -- advised... It's good to want things.
I don’t ever want to hear any moralizing ever again. Thanks.
