Chadron won their home opener on Saturday (9/13/25) night, beating rival BHSU 31-28.
The Eagles’ offense scored 2 TDs by air and 1 TD by land, while racking up 294 yards of total offense (184 passing & 110 rushing).
Chadron’s defense also put points on the board when LB Logan O’Brien intercepted a swing pass and took it to the house for a Pick 6 in the 2nd quarter.
O’Brien had a game last night, making big plays all over the field from the opening kickoff to the final whistle. He was truly impressive to watch.
Perhaps just as impressive as O’Brien’s play was Chadron’s punt coverage and kick off coverage, as they got down field in a hurry to corral the returner for a nominal or no gain, to make a big hit, or to get a tackle for a loss.
Leading Chadron to the win were:
🏈 DJ Ralph, 16 Cmps on 25 Atts for 229 Yds & 2 Passing TDs along with another 34 Yds & a TD on the ground;
🏈 Quincey Ryker, 9 Carries for 60 Yds;
🏈 Preston Pearson, 5 Recs for 70 Yds & a TD;
🏈 Logan O’Brien, 8 Tackles (5 Solo & 3 Ast) with 3.5 TFLs & a Pick 6; &
🏈 Sutton Pohlman, 10 Tackles (6 Solo & 4 Ast) with 1/2 a TFL.
Chadron will be looking to O’Brien and the rest of its defense to limit Landon Walker and CO Mines’ running game next Saturday in Golden.
