The UK nuclear weapons programme started in WWII. In 1956 the first operational nuclear weapon, the Blue Danube was carried by @RoyalAirForce V-bombers ✈️. In 1969 the Resolution Class started the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, taking over provision of the UK’s nuclear deterrent.

In collaboration with @QinetiQ, we’ve successfully used additive manufacturing during HMS Anson’s Submarine Maintenance Period in Australia 🙌. A first for the Royal Navy - replacements were delivered in just four weeks, with parts produced locally.
