Klemtu has our own film now—we’re looking forward to sharing it with the world.
Keepers of the Land is a film from the Kitasoo Xai'xais First Nation based in the small village of Klemtu on the remote central coast of British Columbia—a region known as the Great Bear Rainforest. It's a story about place, and how a small community can have a huge impact.

Our coastal guardian watchmen program is one of the best in Canada. We recently got granted #BCParks authority for enforcing conservation measures—a Canadian first, and a huge step for #reconciliation. Thanks @GeorgeHeyman and BC for the support.

Honoured to have joined @DNeasloss in this thoughtful, nuanced look by @futureecologies at the N American Model of Wildlife Conservation, including how Indigenous-led stewardship of grizzly bears illuminates an alternative, Decolonial model for relationships with other species.
NEW EPISODE [FE4.5] In Part 2 of this mini-series, we're bringing you a success story from the Great Bear Rainforest, and another articulation of how we can relate to wildlife — complete with its own set of guiding principles, naturally. futureecologies.net/listen/f…

#GivingTuesday is here! Help us meet our #GivingTuesdayCA fundraising goal of $5k to ensure young minds are taught about the roles of #grizzlies in our ecosystems, and kept safe by teaching them how to respond to bear sightings.
