I think FMA 2003's first ending is my fav OP or ED of all time. The shot of Ed at the end and how it differs between the 2 versions hits me emotionally like nothing else does.

The first shot is like a genuine look of comfort. Like everything is gonna be OK even though their journey is hard and painful.
The shot from the Nina episode is a happier expression at first glance, but he's faking it, and the pain in his eyes is palpable. He's not OK.
