I'm really about to start using my powers for evil lol
You're supposed to use every unfair advantage you have. Looks, genetics, connections, dad's money, whatever. There's nothing noble about choosing the hardest path just to feel like an underdog.

RT @Tamantha_5: No shade… but I don’t think multi-millionaire pro athletes should be charging kids for sports camps 🤷🏾‍♀️

I need for @Roblox to add a "family" option so I can game with my kids on their accounts without needing to do any age verification.

Fred Rogers met with a child psychologist every week for 22 years to build his show. She shaped everything: every script, prop, and song. The whole point was to give a child's nervous system time to slow down. In 1984, a single regulatory decision ended all of it. The psychologist was Dr. Margaret McFarland, who co-founded the Arsenal Family and Children's Center alongside Benjamin Spock and Erik Erikson. She and Rogers understood that the prefrontal cortex in children, the part of the brain that controls impulse, emotion, and attention, takes decades to fully develop. At the start of every episode, Rogers tied his sneakers and changed his sweater while children settled in. Those pauses were intentional, designed to help a child's nervous system shift into a calmer, more focused state. What ended it had nothing to do with child development science. In 1984, Reagan's FCC chairman Mark Fowler abolished the advertising limits that had protected children's programming from commercial pressure. Toy companies moved within months. Between 1984 and 1985, cartoons tied to toy lines increased by 300%, from a handful of shows to more than 40 animated series. In almost every case, the toy was designed first. The cartoon was built to sell it. Researchers later put numbers to what parents were already noticing. A 2011 study in Pediatrics from the University of Virginia tested 60 four-year-olds across three groups: one watching SpongeBob, which cuts scene every 11 seconds; one watching a slow PBS show, which cuts scene every 34 seconds; and one drawing. Nine minutes later, all three took tests on attention, impulse control, short-term memory, and problem-solving. The SpongeBob group scored significantly worse across every measure. In the 1970s, children began watching television around age 4. Research from pediatrician Dimitri Christakis found that by 2009, the average age of first screen exposure had dropped to 4 months, as the content got faster and the audience got younger. Researchers separately found that each additional hour of daily screen time at ages 1 or 3 raised the risk of attention problems at age 7 by 9%.
We didn’t realize it then, but kids’ shows used to be this calm on purpose.

I really hope Mamdani was the true turning point for political nominees. Stop electing geriatrics to represent you. We need young people in office who are actually competent and relate to the people they’re supposed to serve.
i used to fear mamdani was too young to oversee a city like new york and now i realize our politicians should ... have energy? and stamina?

Things I learned at the LA Streamer University in person Applications. - This is a great opportunity to meet/network with other creators who have similar interests as you. - If ur not in line 24hours before the event, you are late. Best of luck ATL - Have your online application submitted BEFORE you go in person so Kai has something to see after he meets you. (Online apps are more important imo) - If you’re going to stream the event be sure to bring a lot of extra battery chargers, and try not to be intimidated by people with pro level setups. - Speaking honestly u will most likely be skipped/bumped in line by famous people, and well knows streamers/creators - It seems they’re changing the vetting system for each city. LA had 2 rounds of auditions before meeting Kai in person, and everyone will not meet him, just fyi - There will be more people there to capitalize off of the moment, and clip farm than genuine creators/streamers. - DO NOT rush the entrance or chase well known creators! A majority of people at the LA event were not allowed in because people tried to mob the front door once they saw Kai arrive (hence why I and many others never went in lol) Kai is not accepting anyone in person, and the denials seem to be mainly a way to make funny content for BTS, so if u make it in the room be memorable, and make the most of your interview to stand out. - A lot of creators are very nervous, and may not be ready for the level of exposure this opportunity could give them based on conversations I had. In which case I recommend taking a deep breath, and making the most of this experience, and between now and the next year work on your fears of being a successful creator because it comes with a lot of highs/lows and lack of privacy/scrutiny and if u don’t want that there are other ways to build a community that isn’t of that kind of risk. - Have fun, and remember this isn’t your only moment to be discovered. Keep creating content even outside of this event and get comfortable with delayed gratification in this life as an entrepreneur. You gotta make content for the love of the game, not for the quick fix of financial & public fame/success. Entertainment is a very volatile business, and nothing lasts forever so try to build something you can be proud of down the road, because 20 years from now who knows if these apps will even exist. Keep creating, keep growing, keep evolving as a person and you’ll enjoy this journey forever.
