Of course @Arsenal fans would love to have this call, but the reason VAR was invented was to ensure that maximum entertainment was achieved and awarding a PK here would have virtually ended this match - where's the fun in that?!
Just because Simon Hooper couldn't move out of the way of this pass, does not mean that a whistle must sound. Villa players should have kept playing rather than watch Tels miss this wide open goal opportunity. As a referee, it's good when players show they make mistakes too.
