Starting mid-September, I’m taking a handful of WA State clients — in-person and telehealth. Would love to work through religion-related issues, anxiety, depression, other trauma, etc. If interested, email me at dancoke (at) gmail for more info. Thanks!

Dear @thedispatch, as a center-left financial supporter of your work, I think it was a mistake to have Gingrich on the pod to be a Trump apologist. Similar insights about the wars going on could have come from elsewhere. He is not a fair dealer on The Big Lie, etc.

Thanks to @DanKoch for having me on his You Have Permission podcast to talk about leaving religion and my new book. Always great to discuss with you. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Wanted: Smashing Pumpkins remasters but actually change it so that it’s a normal volume and the low end isn’t as flubby as a toddler’s water park diaper

I've got an upcoming episode type called "Making God Laugh" where I discuss religion/spirituality with comedians. I'm looking for volunteers to listen to 4 of them and give Josh and I feedback on what is working, not working, stuff like that. Any takers?

There are a lot of podcasts on the subject of Christian faith deconstruction. And honestly, I've tried listening to most of them. But the one I keep coming back to, over and over again, is You Have Permission by @DanKoch New to deconstruction? Here's why you should listen: Reason #1: Dan's a licensed therapist You Have Permission episodes feature many psychological elements that explain why people's faith shifts over their lifetimes. During the last several seasons, Dan has been working towards his Ph.D. and is now a licensed therapist who published a Spiritual Harm & Abuse Scale in 2022. The psychological lens he brings to the show is invaluable to understanding your journey. Reason #2: Intelligent guests The guests on the show range from academic scholars of the history of religion to theologians, psychologists, and everyone in between. There are a lot of other deconstruction podcasts with great guests, but the wide spectrum on You Have Permission trumps them all. Reason #3: A both-sides approach Before starting You Have Permission, Dan had a podcast called Depolarize that he ran around the 2016 U.S. presidential election. That show was focused on finding common ground with opposing political viewpoints, and is a major element of You Have Permission. Dan often interviews guests from across the aisle with conservative Christian backgrounds. It's rare to find constructive conversation between opposing ideologies, but this podcast delivers. As a beginner, I promise—this is one of the most helpful resources on the Internet you can sink your teeth into to learn about deconstructing and faith shifting, which are normal processes in any honest spiritual life.

Found the #SpiritualHarmAndAbuseScale by @DanKoch today. DanKochWords.com Wonderful tool to help me quantify the complex abuse I experienced 2017-Present. >>> I am beginning the process of specializing my ADR Mediation Certification into the area of #SpiritualAbuse.

I'm interested in trying out some interviews with musicians for Pretty Good Vibrations. Is anyone aware of specific individuals who are "good in interviews," as in you have heard them interviewed before and they were compelling?

Anyone know a real-time audio recording software option besides AudiCable, Audacity, or Ampowersoft? Having trouble finding anything that lets me both hear the music I’m playing and that will record it in high quality while I’m hearing it.

Had to step away from the existentialism talk today to get some other stuff done. Will finish it probably tomorrow. BUT one thing @DanKoch and @trippfuller have made clear from today’s class is Yalom is less of a “Livin On A Prayer” guy and more of a “It’s My Life” guy.

Great episode. I know this stuff is not always popular in some of the progressive circles I run in but these are really important issues that I see on a daily basis in my clinical practice. @DanKoch @jonestony podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

Is there anyone still on this app who might help me make a digital and auto-scored version of my Spiritual Harm and Abuse Scale for clinicians or for larger gatherings with many entries?

I’m unclear why whatever awful things Israel is engaged in, now or before, are being called “genocide.” Is anyone being targeted because of their ethnicity? Is Palestine ethnically homogenous? Genuine question, not rhetorical.
