New Jersey’s school funding formula isn’t producing consistent results for taxpayers or students. When you compare districts with similar poverty levels and economic profiles, state aid can still vary dramatically — sometimes by 10%, 15%, or even 20%. In some communities, taxpayers are contributing far more in income tax than they receive back in school funding support, while others receive significantly higher per-pupil allocations. The question is how we make the system more transparent and more equitable moving forward — starting with a clearer per-pupil baseline and a formula that better reflects what communities are contributing. I’m working on legislation to help move us in that direction.

What a leader. Came in last summer and took a leadership role. Embraced every teammate and lived our values of grit, gratitude, and brotherhood. This man made all of us better. Me included. We can’t thank him enough for his service as a Sun Devil All American.

Arizona State heavyweight David Szuba, who was a state champion at heavyweight at Brick Memorial in 2021, is an All-American. Szuba transferred to Arizona State from Rider in the spring of 2025.
