In 1999, Stephen Abas went 37-1 and defeated Penn Stateās Jeremy Hunter 7-4 in State College to win the NCAA title at 125 lbs.
Abas became Fresno Stateās first wrestling national champion since 1968. It was the first of three NCAA titles for the future Olympic silver medalist.

Breaking: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. Heās set to be eligible for the 2026 season.
