BREAKING NEWS: We filed a lawsuit challenging the president’s executive order threatening vote-by-mail. The Constitution gives states – not the president – authority to run elections. Voting by mail is safe, secure, and trusted by Oregonians across the political spectrum. #orpol

Rayfield: This is a president who deliberately leads by fear, because that’s how he gets the outcomes he’s looking for. He creates primary dynamics where people are scared to say anything different — because if they do, he’ll try to compel their actions in Congress. He leads through fear. It’s like a coach working the refs during a game — criticizing the referee to influence the outcome. He’s working the judges, inciting fear — so much so that you had the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court rebuke the president. For people who are worried, that’s actually a reassuring sign. Now, is every ruling going to go our way in the courts? Of course not. But this is what he’s doing. Have you ever seen a president challenge the independent judiciary like this? When he doesn’t get a ruling he likes, he goes to Congress and tries to pressure members to pursue impeachment. This is new — and it’s happening everywhere. It’s happening on free speech, where he’s using the FCC to pressure mainstream media outlets…
