SA Spurs reminds me of the 80s Oilers losing to the NYI before becoming a dynasty. Often the final lesson comes in defeat. SA showed in this entire series that they still have plenty to learn. Well spoken Wemby said he’s pissed SA needs to play 100 games to apply those lessons.

That last part is the risk. And if it’s a two-year contract and MM walks, just like Rick Tocchet did when they didn’t extend him, it looks terrible again on the owner.
It's better for the club if the term is short. However, they won't hire the best people if they aren't willing to pay going rate. And if the coach does well, he will leave for better $$ in 2 years.

Any reasonable fan can only hope for .450- 500 hockey next season considering the team is in the basement . Again .500 the following season based on unproven prospects and un tradable (without retention) long term contracts . Manny looks like a bag holder.
