Brilliant marketing. Spinning a gaffe into a legit brand is next-level creativity. Well done by all parties involved and @GamedaySpirit. This is admirable for TSJ and his family, embracing this with grace and humor, by continuing to build a lasting legacy.

"Mom's gotta fix the toilet"-- 😂 my youngest Carson on if Mom's gonna play in the snow too.
Sometimes when you host a show from home and your kids get a snow day you have to improvise. I let Carson join me at the end of "Off the Air with Matt Randazzo" and he did a GREAT job!

Some career news.
Excited for this opportunity with the @MuscatineCSD. There are a lot people in the district doing amazing things so I look forward to conveying their stories.
There is no better time to start than cake auction week (Jan. 27).
Putting into perspective Illinois 9th straight win over Wisconsin. It's completely different since former Rockridge standout @EthanHapp22 was in Madison.

"Off the Air with Matt Randazzo" debuts LIVE January 6th
Well - that's a wrap.
I decided to record a goodbye back where it all started-- TV11 and SAU:) It was one heck of a ride! Thanks for putting up with me on WQAD for nearly 25 years. Truly blessed
Cubs LF Ian Happ has won his 3rd consecutive Gold Glove award.
Happ becomes the 1st Cubs outfielder to win three Gold Glove awards.
He is the 5th Cubs position player to win at least three straight GG, joining Anthony Rizzo, Mark Grace, Ryne Sandberg and Ron Santo.
So much I want to write, instead I express a sincere gratitude to everyone in my corner for walking with me especially the last 15 challenging months of my career. Gonna give my best out there tomorrow. @nycmarathon goes off at 8:35 am EST! @timganman@hoka@NAZ_Elite@hawisports
Nearly 25 years ago I walked into WQAD as an eager, wide eyed, and probably unprepared intern. I knew very little. The ONE thing I did know was that this is something I always wanted to do.
I grew up right here in the Quad Cities flipping channels as fast as I could as a kid. I'd go from Thom Cornelius/Dan Pearson to Don Sharp to Dan Burich as fast as I could to get as much local sports as I could. I couldn't get enough. And for a quarter century I lived and breathed local sports. I've been beyond blessed.
But here's the thing - that 20 year old intern has turned into a 45 year old happily married father of 4 extremely busy boys. Seems like it happened overnight.
My time at WQAD is coming to an end. I've got 3 weeks left. My final show will be November 10th.
There's several reasons why it's time. But there's no 4 better reasons than those aforementioned boys of mine. Being a dad is hands down my most important job in life. My wife is an absolute rockstar. She's gladly allowed me to do what I love. But it's time to get off work before 11pm every night and work a few less Saturdays.
It's also time for some new challenges. I try to teach my boys that the best things you'll do in life are outside your comfort zone. Well - after 25 years - I've gotten pretty comfy at WQAD.
I'm super excited about the future and opportunities ahead. I won't be a stranger to QC sports. More on that soon.
There are SO many thank you's to give and memories to share. That's what these next 3 weeks are all about. Let's have some fun along the way. It's been one heck of a ride!

Very grateful for Year 2 at MLB dot com.
From covering 13 different teams, my first postseason experience and a lot of behind the scenes work, it was a pleasure getting to meet so many new faces at Kauffman Stadium this year.
Until 2025.
During my conversation with Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts, he shared his thoughts on the team falling short of the postseason again, 2025 payroll and the CBT, his assessment of Jed Hoyer and the team president’s future, and more: chicagotribune.com/2024/10/1…
"What makes it the toughest is we knew we had a good enough team to be in the playoffs."
During a wide-ranging conversation with @M_Montemurro, Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts did not downplay how he felt about the team again falling short of its goal.

Thanks to everyone who followed on here and read my Cubs coverage @chicagotribune this year — it’s much appreciated! More to come during the offseason.
“For fans to give me that from the moment I showed up to the ballpark today celebrating me, part of me hates it, I hate all that attention. But at the end I know I have to soak in these moments.”
Kyle Hendricks gives memorable likely last start with Cubs: chicagotribune.com/2024/09/2…
