Having lived under Putin’s missiles & drones, it’s impossible to understand how Trump falls for this. There is one aggressor, Russia, which started the biggest & deadliest war in Europe since WWII. To end the war, the U.S. needs to do one thing: turn up the pressure on Russia.

We have just touched base with several leaders ahead of tomorrow’s meeting between President Trump and President Zelenskyy on peace talks. We welcome all efforts leading to our shared objective - a just and lasting peace that preserves Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. And that strengthens the country’s security and defence capabilities, as an integral part of the security of our continent. I welcome the decision of the Council on our proposal to continue the immobilisation of Russian Sovereign Assets. We are sending a strong signal to Russia that as long as this brutal war of aggression continues, Russia’s costs will continue to rise. This is a powerful message to Ukraine: We want to make sure that our brave neighbour becomes even stronger on the battlefield and at the negotiating table.
