Mason Adams’ final line: 4 IP, 5 hits, HR, 3 ER, no walks, 5 Ks. 70 pitches, 46 strikes.
His sweeper was terrific. On 20 pitches, he had 6 called strikes and 3 whiffs. They averaged 85.8 mph.
Two of his fastballs were also solid. He threw 11 cutters, at 89.5, and generated 1 called strike and 3 whiffs. Adams also tossed 14 4-seamers, averaging 93.6 mph, with 2 called strikes and 3 whiffs.
He threw 20 sinkers, with just 3 called strikes, and 5 curves.
After a rough start and 3 hits by the first 4 Comets batters, including a homer, Adams was excellent.
