Our new album Civic Jams is released on 19th June with @warprecords. It took a while like most of our music does so we’re really pleased to have this day actually come round. It means a lot people have been asking and are listening. ❤️

Dot Rotten made joyous beats. You could tell through his programming and composition that he was buzzing with switching hi hat patterns up, phrasing drums to keep it boppin, subtle switches all the time. When you make beats like that it’s proper craft and skill.
I think it’s depressing that someone with Dot Rotten’s talent only got major platform coverage after his passing, instead of for his brilliance while he was here. RIP Zeph Ellis.
Me and Ben will be discussing music, how it informs our recovery today, what recovery actually is, and why life is a simple game for complicated people.
Expect house, psychedelic folk, drum n bass, bossa nova and world sounds.
Friday 1st August 3pm-4pm

All at LFC are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Phil Hammond. He lost his 14-year-old son Philip at Hillsborough, went on to become Chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group and helped lead the fight for justice for the 97. RIP Phil. YNWA ❤️
looking for some interesting percussive one shots and loops, something a little more dynamic in timbre than the usual, something woody, shakers, woodblocks, chromatic percussion type things. cmon I need putting on to something... help a geezer out
Writing instrumental music 90% of the time, maybe more, is a thankless task. One thing that might help the process is not feeling disheartened if ideas don’t come prolifically, try and look for small victories if you haven’t written a banger.
One of my biggest battles making music is trying not to beat myself up if ideas don’t stick and then dealing with the anxiety that ensues. I could talk about this for days but ultimately it’s all baggage that offers nothing productive. Basically crack on and see what comes back.
