Soon we can apply to add their coded, de-identified GP data to our database so researchers can study the full spectrum of disease

This is a critical point. Drug target MR investigations should use genetic variants in biologically-relevant gene regions that mimic the intervention of interest. Not genetic variants that predict drug prescription or drug usage.
