Writer & game designer specialising in story games, including War Story, Perspectives, Animals of Baker Street, Unlock!, & Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective
3 years as a full-time designer & my games have comfortably passed 1 million copies sold. Gratitude to all the publishers and co-designers who make this is a viable way of life for me. Many more releases to come in the next few years. #boardgames#gamedesign
When Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Baker Street Irregulars was published, I sent a letter to the designer of the original game, Suzanne Goldberg. We stayed in touch, and recently I suggested a call to talk about the game, which I recordedโฆ #boardgames#sherlockholmes
Our conversation covered how the original game came about, game production and marketing in the 1980s, how different the industry is today, and how the game changed Suzanneโs life and my life completely.

Appropriately for the month in which War Story: Occupied France from @OspreyGames launched, I spent October in a chateau in Normandy that was used as a local German HQ, and still bears the marks of bullet holes and shrapnel from when the allies took it back. #WWII#boardgames
I don't think we ever felt so tense while reading a choose-your-own-adventure book and staring at some cubes on the table. Can't wait to see what the other two scenarios bring.
