Thanks for such an amazing grand rounds, full of inspiration and thoughtful insights on the bright the future ahead of us in surgical training on robotics and new technologies.
This past week, I had a fantastic time visiting @CenterRuhs and @LLUMedSchool as an invited professor for Surgery Grand Rounds. I enjoyed discussing the nuances of modern surgical training and our research on the safe implementation of robotic surgical technologies.
I was especially energized by conversations with the talented and driven residents and faculty.
An added bonus was spending time with my brother in arms @DavidCabaMD, Chief of Surgical Oncology, an inspiring leader, and a great host. @AtriumHealth @LevineCancer

If you are at a place with awful institutional, departmental, and divisional leadership, with bad salary and minimal support staff, you’ll be UnHappy. No place is perfect, but I can confirm the place I describe does exist…👀

Medical student Yash Shroff did a superb job presenting @PCSAsurg .
Leadership at your institution and the culture they represent is a strong predictor of burnout. Amenities don’t really matter as much to make up for the leadership.
