Honored to be interviewed for this story. Let’s remember the moment when we weren’t Red States or Blue States, and what we can all learn about ourselves, and teach our children, from 9/11. #911Day
Our @nflnetwork interview with #Giants HC John Harbaugh on his new gig and QB Jaxson Dart.
“I was ready to run through a brick wall after I talked to him. It’s like my dad says — an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. Let’s all be like that and see where we can go.”
First responders stand in solemn honor as they carry the flag-draped remains of an unidentified victim recovered after a midair collision between an American Airlines flight and a Black Hawk helicopter. Officials now say they expect no survivors.
23 years ago next week, Americans came together—united by our sadness, our common humanity, and love for country. We gave without expecting in return, setting aside our differences and reaching out to strangers. 9/11 Day was created in hope of rekindling that spirit of unity. So once again, lets come together, knowing that we're more powerful united than we are divided. This 9/11 Day, let's all make a positive impact on the world around us.

Americans honor the lives lost to the #911Day attacks through #Service and volunteerism every year. We pay tribute to those we lost and those who rose in service, like @AmeriCorpsSr volunteer Joe, who supported emergency responders following the attacks.

A6 We would suggest, among other resources, you visit 911day.org. In particular, check out the special page for teachers, and all of the free resources we have available about the observance. Also visit AmeriCorps toolkit pages, along with YSA, and your local state commissions. Google "9/11 Day" for other organizations doing things in your community. Just come up with one good deed you can do on 9/11, or another day that week, and remember that 9/11 is a day of unity. Be kind. Be yourself. #911Day24Chat
A4 Days of Service are really just a reminder of how we want to behave every day. Just take a moment to bring out the goodness in you. Whatever that looks like. It doesn't have to be about volunteering necessarily. It can simply be about respecting other people. Acknowledging their right to make their own choices about their lives. Try to be a little more patient. A little more understanding. And love the fact that our world is so diverse. It's a painting beyond our understanding. So think of every day as a Day of Service. #19Day24Chat#911day
Q4: How can Americans volunteer beyond Days of Service? In what ways has #911Day impacted communities beyond the service that volunteers provide on that day? #911Day24Chat
When we serve together, we automatically find common ground with others. And that moment of awakening -- when we realize that we share something special with someone else, i.e. our innate desire to help -- opens the door for us to constructively resolve other differences of thought. Service is that powerful! #911Day24Chat#911day
