As you may know, my father passed away after living with advanced Alzheimer’s.
So I’m running the London Marathon for @AlzResearchUK.

I don’t comment on politics here but if this is true, Morgan McSweeney did more than anyone to destroy Labour, driving out over 200,000 members - myself included.
Starmer’s predicament won’t be solved by McSweeney.

New: Morgan McSweeney is back advising the Prime Minister – four months after he resigned over his role in the Mandelson scandal.
The former No 10 chief of staff is advising Sir Keir Starmer in his moment of greatest peril, multiple government and Whitehall sources told The i Paper.
McSweeney is helping the Prime Minister and has “never really gone away”, one minister said.
“He has been on the end of the phone 24/7,” one source said. “He has been wargaming a leadership contest and believes Keir still has a chance if there are three or more [challengers] in the contest. He has been working out how the votes could go. It’s mad.”

Today I opened the John Prescott Room at Ruskin College.
He got a second chance here.
No O levels, but Ruskin helped him get to Hull, then to Parliament, and eventually Deputy PM.
We all deserve a second chance.
Today I went back to say thank you.

Tomorrow I have the honour of opening the John Prescott Room at Ruskin College, 60 years after he finished the course that helped take him from the docks to Downing Street.
I’ll return his original Ruskin essays to inspire future students.
Thank you Ruskin for believing in him.

We’d just moved in to the house in East Hull in 1978.
Fitting that he spent his whole life trying to lift people up too.
