I can’t get this story out of my head. The only way a $38,000 return business class flight to New York makes sense is if it’s a) fully flex Qantas & b) sold with a huge fee from the travel booker. Some life news, I’ve quit to become a travel booker. smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

We will not have reached a *true* multi-polar geopolitical environment until the Chinese politburo loops a random reporter into a WeChat friend circle discussing Taiwan island chain blockade plans.

Technically speaking, I think @TurnbullMalcolm has lost fewer elections than Donald Trump. #WestminsterSystem
Former prime minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, did an interview with Bloomberg about how countries might “find China a more attractive partner" that made Donald Trump melt down on his sad little social media platform: “President Xi will aim to be the exact opposite of Trump: where Trump is chaotic, he will be consistent. Where Trump is rude and abusive, he’ll be respectful. Where Trump is erratic, he will be consistent.” After Donald posted his unglued rant, Turnbull said that world leaders should “not give in to bullies” and that Donald's “post proves that my comments hit the mark." 🍿

A lot of sense from @JAParker29 on the Chinese live fire drills off Australia’s coast. Some of the commentary is bizarre and politically short-sighted. China’s ocean-going navy is bigger than ever & episodes like this will happen under all governments.

An adapted excerpt of “House of Huawei” is in the Washington Post today, recounting some how the Chinese company brought on a Sputnik moment & became a policy obsession for the first Trump administration. Humbled to be sharing the full book soon with readers (cont)

When I still covered the NBN, @Birmo put in a ton of effort meeting stakeholders and reading material to better understand the brief so he could ask intelligent, useful questions during Senate Estimates; many others in his position would’ve merely phoned it in or gone attack dog.
Thank you and farewell. My speech: senatorbirmingham.com.au/tha…
