God forgive a man has a hobby.
A scientist behind a three-sided mobile lead shield approaches an active 254-tonne cyclotron particle accelerator and using sphere-mounted tongs, prepares to remove an aluminium object made radioactive by 45 MeV alpha-particles bombardment at Argonne National Laboratory, 1955.

Brutal seeing ScotPol unfamiliar with this level of generational talent.

Why would people in Scotland think Glasgow is the second city of the UK when Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, the second largest nation in the UK?
May 22
What do you consider to be Britain's second city? Manchester: 34% of Britons Birmingham: 30% Edinburgh: 12% Liverpool: 3% Glasgow: 3% Cardiff: 2% Leeds: 1% Newcastle: 1% Bristol: 1%

The logical solution put forward in Scotland over the last 20 years to population density leaving us feeling underrepresented in parliament is independence. If the country is dominated by a population in the south, with a remote parliament, there appears to be one route forward.
Quite interesting how defensive folk have got over this image. There is a reason it was created in the first place, and many of the replies confirm that. Also interesting that many of those replying *appear* to be pro-independence. Not really selling it to me.

Too many young, and new, politicians in this parliament to be bogged down in the ‘constitutional’ question. However the election was portrayed. Ever pertinent, but shouldn’t dictate bold and radical policy debate and legislation. Old government, new parliamentarians.

Ashtray between the two bar urinals and £5.50 a pack of steamers out the vending machine in Mallorca. Maybe the UK should start voting for a government like Spain.

Established populations of feral pigs are primarily found around Dumfries and Galloway, Easter Ross and the Great Glen, between Fort William and Inverness. If you spot a feral pig, keep your distance and do not feed them. Report sightings: irecord.org.uk/enter-casual-…

My grandfather was factor for a nationalised estate in Sutherland. They were building a bridge across a river and he came back to find the road unfinished. Guys came back and apologised saying there was a run on the (estate) river but not to worry it was only one for the pot.
Sorry lowlanders, the peats are needing in and there’s a run on the river. The boy in the high vis is a plant. He’s from Glasgow.

He was from the north east of Scotland, doric speaking, and although ended up marrying my grandmother, a Sutherland Mackay from a family cleared to Strathy and ending up in Caithness, he couldn’t quite come to terms with the way Sutherland Gaels did things.

Were you up for Highlands and Islands? Could it become the Scottish equivalent of 'were you up for Portillo?'
