We employ a heterogenous Photocatalyst graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4)to report a sustainable and metal free approach for the benzylation of phthalimide derivatives using readily available (hetero)aryl acetic acids via a decarboxylative, visible-light-induced photooxidation process catalyzed by and afforded the desired benzylated products in excellent yields within a reaction time of 5–6 h. We report a visible-light induced radical Dearomative ring annulation approach via arene radical cation intermediate of biaryl ynones providing an important template towards synthesis of varied 3D spirocyclic frameworks like diverse thiophosphorylated spiro[5.5] and azaspiro[4.5]trienones with high functional group tolerance. The workshop aims to offer an immersive understanding of the science and creativity behind fragrance and flavour creation, covering the journey from natural raw materials to finished fragrances, while also highlighting career, research, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the fragrance and flavour industry, particularly in the context of Madhya Pradesh. All interested participants are requested to register using the QR code provided in the flyer. We strongly encourage maximum participation from across departments to take advantage of this unique learning and networking opportunity. Early participation is encouraged as seats are limited.
