I'm on my first list! Hopeful to move up to bigger and better things, but everyone has to start somewhere!

The sheer scale of a trillion dollars can be hard to comprehend. Let me put it in perspective. You would be able to buy 42 miles of high speed rail in California with that much money.
The sheer scale of a trillion dollars can be hard to comprehend. Let me put it in perspective. You would have to earn a dollar a year for a trillion years straight to have that much money.

Hotep Jesus wants to live in a world where every single confrontation between high school kids, no matter how small, has the potential to escalate into a knife fight. You know what, he's right. Austin Metcalf shouldn't have pushed Karmelo when he refused to leave the tent; he should've just stood on bidnez and stabbed that faggot right in the chest. After all, Karmelo said "touch me and see what happens". He identified himself as a potentially dangerous individual and thus Austin should've treated him that way from the start. He didn't do that because in civil society, people with an IQ above 75 generally understand there are levels to the escalation of a verbal/physical confrontation. There's no reason to go straight from 0 to 10 over a space in a tent. People with basic self control and emotional maturity understand this. It seems to be his position these social norms are either fake, or have disappeared for some reason. Weirdly, they still exist for 90% of the population outside of... criminals.
You don't get to initiate physical contact unless you are ready for unpredictable consequences.

I'm reminded of this old 4chan green text from the point of view of a public defender talking about how all of his clients always want to go to trial no matter how obviously guilty they are, how they have zero empathy for their victims (they ain't kin), and treat the court hallways like a social family meetup. They're always shocked when they verdict is read and then accuse the lawyer of being inept, but there's only so much you can do for a reasonable defense when you're caught on camera. You would think it's just farce but if you spend time talking to lawyers in the criminal area they'll confirm that some people really are like that. There's a ghetto attitude that's just in straight rebellion of the seriousness of their plight. They think courts and law are like magic spells, and you just got to have your wizard say the right things and you can walk out the door, because they heard of some cousin's friend who beat the rap.

one of the things a white stag symbolises in english tradition is legitimacy and sovereignty so when agents of the crown slay one, that's... pretty on the nose as an omen. "but night was falling and it was distressed" yeah even more on the nose

“Your honor, this is only his first murder”
35 years on your first offense is over sentencing. Yea there has to be a retrial. This is blatant injustice.
Community note
Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder, not a standard "first offense" misdemeanor. Under Texas law, a first-degree murder conviction carries a sentence of 5 to 99 years or life in prison. The 35-year sentence falls well within legal guidelines. tpr.org/news/2026-06-0…

There's been a lot of posting from people finding out that Texas state law exists and that's kind of understandable, but this seems like a post from someone finding out that Texas exists.

The horrific scenes in North Belfast should not be used by English, right wing politicians to further their own ends. I don’t ever remember them commenting on any of the other hellish things that community has experienced over the years.

I have been reliably informed that a fee is not a tax.

In American slang we often refer to money as “benjamins” this is a subtle reference to Benjamin Netanyahu, an American folk figure who takes all of our money

If all you had to do was storm HR with a machine gun and shoot them all to death I promise you that 26 year olds would be less anxious about work.

First they came for the communists, and I spoke up because I believed in their freedom of speech. Then they came for liberal activists, and I stood up because I believed in their freedom of speech. Then they came for the pornographers and I spoke up because I believe believed in their freedom of speech. Then they came for me, and none of those motherfuckers gave a shit and I kind of wish they had all just been marched off to death camps.

The natural end of hedonism is to get sick of it all and consequently begin to give it up. This phenomenon might accompany repentance sometimes, but it's not repentance in & of itself.
