Reviving Bitcoin's earliest OG mascot — Bitcoin Bob.
Bitcoin Bob comes from the earliest Bitcoin explainer video on YouTube, "What is a bitcoin?", made back in 2010. The creator, David Hollis (X handle @Gippsnews), used the then-popular Xtranormal animation software to make the video. In it, Bitcoin Bob and Alice explain what Bitcoin is and how to use it in a super simple, friendly way — back when Bitcoin was priced at just a few cents to around 30 cents.
This video is considered one of the earliest pieces of Bitcoin educational content on YouTube. Bob became an iconic, lovable figure in the early Bitcoin community, symbolizing the spirit of making complex technology accessible and down-to-earth.
David Hollis himself put his Solana address in his bio. He collects creator fees from this token and buys and holds it himself every day. He initially said he wouldn't stop anyone from making a Bob coin, but later confirmed he'd be collecting fees and continuing to buy in.
This gives it a layer of authentic, original history plus active original-creator involvement that sets it apart from purely random meme coins.
