In 2003, LEGO was in about $800 million debt and losing roughly $1 million a day, on the verge of bankruptcy. By 2025, the company had turned into one of the world's most valuable toy empires, now worth well over $30 billion. What was responsible for the turnaround? Amongst multiple strategies there was a strategy that stood out. In 2004 a new CEO came onboard and said, “This isn’t working. “We need to build for our customers. We need to know what they want.” They reached out and asked, “We’d love to know what you’d love to see from LEGO.” Contributions flooded in. There’s even a part of the website called LEGO Ideas where you can submit a design you want to be built. If it gets 10,000 supporters, it gets reviewed for possible production. Community is the core of a great product. Yes, community was the strategy that stood out. How do you build a community that turns fans into evangelists, gladiators, avengers, whatever you want to call these people who’ll champion and spread the word about your brand? I’ll discuss just two strategies you can leverage for an active and loyal community. Firstly: Interact with your community and make them feel like co-owners. Ask questions to your community. Don’t just ask, actually listen and act on what they say. People want to be heard. When their ideas are implemented, they feel like true co-owners of the product. This is the famous IKEA effect in action: people place much higher value on things they help create. That feeling of ownership turns them into evangelists. They’ll preach about your product and proudly say, “You know this feature was my idea.” When a user or customer feels like this, they’ll tell everyone about it. Secondly: Spotlight your community members. When someone gives a great contribution, shine a light on them. “Shout-out to Dennis for his suggestion on …. We’ve looked into it and it’s now on our roadmap.” One spotlight can trigger many more people to engage and contribute. With everyone jumping in, you suddenly have an active, vibrant community. I knew that Christianity was the truth because that's the only religion that the occult is afraid of. But if it's an attack on Christianity, they don't want to talk about it. Why? Because they don't want to bring awareness to it because that's what they're trying to do. They want Christians to get attacked. They want to exterminate the gospel. Come on, these principalities and these demonic rulers, they can only gain territory in the spirit when there are less true, Holy Spirit-filled believers. Because we hold, bro, God gave us the power to hold it down. Come on, you know what I'm saying? So they will try to not shed light on these things because God gave us authority to push weight in the spiritual realm.
