We’ve used exactly the same method throughout the season; in fact, if we stick to it even more strictly, Leclerc is the driver with the fastest optimal lap time up to the moment of the crash, but we’ve decided not to include it. Don’t like the format? That’s perfectly understandable, but you only come here to complain when your driver isn’t going well. How many times have we written to you or replied in the way you’re looking for to create conflict? When you weren’t posting any analysis during 2025, did we do so? When you changed your method depending on the race, as in Canada, to extract data that interested you to the point of using all the race laps as a sample (including extremely slow and atypical laps without filtering anything at all), did we say anything to you? No, did we? We already know you’re only going to be around here when your driver is doing well; you only reply to us on his behalf. You couldn’t care less about the rest of the drivers, so do us a favour: silence us and just forget about us. Enjoy your driver’s performances and stop bothering the rest of us who don’t think exactly the same as you. Regards
You’re taking the piss

Hundreds of insults for saying that Leclerc had good pace in this session before the crash (2nd fastest time in Q2) Another lovely day on this social media 🥸
I don’t think there’s any need to make such a fuss about Leclerc; he was ahead of Hamilton in Q2 and, right up until the crash (with both first sectors completed) Leclerc’s potential lap time was still faster than Lewis’s. Obviously, this doesn’t take anything away from Hamilton’s final lap, but it would have been great to see a lap time from Leclerc in Q3 so we could measure his representative pace.

👉 How do we measure pace trends? This involves carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the session with the aim of identifying general trends in pace. To do this, we track each driver’s performance across the different sessions, analyse the best sector times and pay particular attention to the decisive laps – in other words, the final laps will always carry the greatest weight in the final result. This approach allows us to obtain a final figure that is much more accurate and representative of each driver’s pure pace, whilst avoiding the inclusion of unrepresentative data that could distort the final result.

H2H (Head to Head) is a direct comparison between two teammates to determine which of them performs better under certain conditions. To make this comparison, we add a luck correction with the intention of eliminating any external factors that could alter the final result, which inevitably, in certain doubtful situations, involves a certain degree of subjectivity in making a decision, even though it may be based on real race data. For example, if one driver was ahead of another under equal conditions but suffered an external problem such as an engine failure, we would award them the victory in the duel. In particularly complex situations, where too many external factors come into play, we may also classify a duel as a draw. And when there is insufficient data, the duel is cancelled.

Many people criticise us for our analyses, in which we try to eliminate factors external to the driving itself, but it doesn't take much research to realise that a large proportion of the results in this sport are down more to external circumstances than to the drivers' own merits How unfair, for example, could the treatment of Russell in Monaco have been? And shouldn’t that be looked into? 🤷‍♂️
