True story: I once ordered a coffee drink from Wendy’s for my wife. The girl at the window asked ME how to make it. I guess I should have said just pour some coffee in a cup and add some quality.
‘Hey so what are the ingredients in the recipe?’ ‘Quality’ ‘Okay but like what actual food ingredients?’ ‘Quality’ ‘Okey Dokey’

I’m not a clown fan, but I remember a time when they weren’t so hated. It’s sad that something that brought so much positivity and happiness to so many people for centuries gets reduced to a pejorative meme and tired horror trope.

Eighty-two years ago today, the fate of the free world turned on the courage of ordinary men asked to do the extraordinary. On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied soldiers crossed the English Channel and stormed the beaches of Normandy — many knowing they might never return. They came not for glory, but for something far greater: the liberation of a continent crushed under tyranny. D-Day was not simply a military operation — it was the moment the tide of history changed, purchased at an almost incomprehensible cost in blood and sacrifice. As we mark the 82nd anniversary, we don’t simply remember a battle. We remember the men behind it — their fear, their faith, and their extraordinary willingness to give everything so that others could live free. That debt does not expire with time. It only deepens. @Normandy @WW2Facts #dday #normandy #dday82 #ww2 #ww2history

General Eisenhower's June 5, 1944, note for the message he would issue if the D-Day invasion failed the next day. He said that if there was any blame, "it is mine alone."

On this day in 1944, 150,000 Allied soldiers are being loaded onto ships all across southern England. Tomorrow, they'll take part in history's greatest invasion. “At that time, we didn't know it was D-Day," one veteran would later recall. "We just knew we had a job to do.”

She was my first concert and it was pretty awesome. And pretty loud. 🎸🤘
Some women are cool. Some women are really cool. Some women are extremely cool. But only one woman is Joan Jett.

Sad news he had a great voice. R.I.P.
Peabo Bryson, the voice behind “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World,” has passed away at 75.

Literally hundreds of great stories that don't involve the people most talked about in history books. Stories about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. Take the Battle of Athens, that'd make a hellofa film (or maybe a series).
Even crazier that we don’t have 30 movies about the Civil War. Of course I know why we don’t, but it’s still ridiculous. You could make a movie just about Antietam or Chancellorsville or Shiloh. You could make a Band of Brothers style thing following the course of the whole war and it would be phenomenal. In a just world Stonewall Jackson would have his own prestige awards bait biopic. But that will never happen in a million years.

YES. No one wants "conservative" films/stories anymore than they want "progressive" films/stories. We want great stories well told.
He says w out ever seeing Wind and the Lion or Rough Riders (literally two films made years apart about “different parts of Teddy Roosevelt’s life”). Additionally my Dads “Daniel Boone” script also still sits on the shelf at WB and was the first thing he tried to get for me to direct. Along w 30 other unmade movies from the best writer in Hollywood. I get that Matt hates me for dunking on the DW for years and their own hokey content but show some respect to people like my Dad that personify the point you think yr new in making re conservative films that are actually good. What DW will never realize is the material has to be good first and conservative or whatever tf second. Or you’re just making homework on film.

Trust me, when you’re planning to record Electric Avenue in 1983 on a tape recorder made in 1971 that’s sitting next to an AM radio made in 1966, you’re gonna want the cheapest cassette possible.

"Just like Ronnie sang..." First time I ever heard Ronnie Spector -I suspect there are other GenXers like me with the same experience. It was great Eddie asked her. I always wondered since they wrote the song with her in mind, what if she said "no"? Doesn't work without her.

It's a bit of a goofy film, but overall its enjoyable. Chris Tucker's schtick is grating. Milla Jovovich is alluring.
unpopular opinion: I hate THE FIFTH ELEMENT. The production design is a wonder; the effects are dazzling, the costumes are beautiful to look at, all of it in service of an incredibly stupid film.

Used to order widescreen VHS movies from Suncoast back in the day. Had no idea they still existed.
I found out there is an open Suncoast an hour away...
