This is all so insane. We found this when we got back to our room. And then someone even sent cupcakes to our room. I genuinely don’t understand how it got to this point. We’re just normal World Cup tourists.😭😭

Watching @FreddyLA7 the German World Cup fan road trip through the South and discover actual America has been one of my favorite things online.
Waffle House hash browns. Buc-ee’s snack aisles. Auburn’s stadium. River tubing. Fairhope sunsets. Random small towns that look like movie sets if you actually slow down long enough to notice them.
People fly here thinking America is New York, LA, Vegas, and Disney.
Then they end up somewhere in Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama and realize the whole country is way weirder, prettier, friendlier, and more interesting than they were told.
That is the America I love watching people find.

Proposed Rule: Privileges are awarded by semester and are dependent on attendance. Example: 50 Tardies earns you last: last parking spot, last person to pickup yearbooks and dance tickets, and last line on the sports team.
I met a student with 50 Tardies for this semester.

Add to that a school employee who happens to be a parent comes in unannounced each day to have a parent conference about grades, gossip and procedures. So much for getting my own work done.
Things #Teachers don’t talk about:
That unpaid hour before school where you’re setting up the room, printing papers, and trying to mentally prepare for the day.

Nobody talks about the kid who has never been allowed to fail. Every assignment is redone until it is right. Every grade is negotiated by a parent who cannot watch their child struggle. Every obstacle is removed before he reaches it. He will fail eventually. We just made sure he has no idea what to do when he does.

Today I realized why I am so annoyed with my job. It’s because I care and have morals. Most people in education don’t care and have no morals. Thats the honest truth.

Teacher observations are not about evaluating teachers. They are about instilling fear in the workers, and providing evidence to terminate teachers that administration doesn’t like.

Our younger generation is smarter than given credit for. My 4 children (11, 12, 15 & 16)are constantly reminding each other not to use AI, it's a trend at their schools. They'll even get angry at you me for using it breaking down the water consumption it takes. Makes me proud 🙌

We make it so easy to pass. Pass without actually knowing anything. Pass without actually showing up....
Now we are wondering what to do about all the students who are chronically absent, and no longer showing up at all. (But still passing)
