Based on what I’ve seen in schools, I foresee classrooms having cameras in 5-10 years. Until then, my hope is that @NCGOP can make school security footage public record as @GovRonDeSantis does in Florida. I may message some of my followers and schedule a call to get the public records aspect incorporated into the law this summer.

Smaller class sizes are mostly a facility issue. The GOP led General Assembly tried class size caps before, and critics called them an unfunded mandate because schools lacked the classroom space to make them work. Even if fully funded, districts would need more classrooms, more administrators, and more support staff. By the time the money would be spent, students wouldn’t ever experience the benefits.

That’s insane. It wasn’t even an all white jury and he had nothing to stand on. We haven’t even heard from him. I suspect that he had a discipline record at school and probably some run-ins with law enforcement as a juvenile. He might not have had formal charges, but I bet he had encounters.

I don’t do this. But, when I am tired from my second job and go to school in the morning, I’ve tried to unlock my classroom door with my car’s remote. Spoiler Alert: it doesn’t work.
After a 36-hour shift, this doctor instinctively tries to scan her hospital badge at her own front door… 🥹🤍

Unpopular Take: Sometimes high school students need a come to Jesus talk. I don’t yell, but I can give a stern talk when the situation calls for it.

Heat is like a rip current. By the time you realize you are in trouble, it is already pulling you under.

As you pay for the school budget this year through increased taxes, remember that EMS is at Level 0 once again. 🤔

…and there are terrible parents out there that have no care for their children’s feelings. It’s sad.

You would be surprised how many middle school students line up at the gym, pull the door once, and give up. No one ever thinks that pulling down on the handle will open the door. (Many teachers lock the push bar open so the door needs to be pushed only)
The Far Side was so fucking good it’s still ahead of its time …

One of my bests qualities is being able to engineer and build things. My wife and I successfully finished our irrigation system complete with an automatic pump and 3 zones. Now, let’s see if the HOA narcs report me for violating water restrictions.

LMAO. Not what I said at all, but okay. I have no idea what PragerU is. I learned about how schools used to be funded through my own research. As far as the other half of my reply, it comes from reading Thomas Sewell, Coleman Hughes, and John McWhorter. All black authors so put that in your racism pipe and smoke it.

The most common reason students give for not taking my course is that it is a lot of work. I am not changing that. The funny part is that most of the work is completed in class. Students can finish everything by Wednesday and have Thursday and Friday wide open. 🙄🤦🏼

Police and EMS calls can be unbelievable. Parents called 911 because their 10 year old refused to take prescribed medication. When the child is off the medication, violent behavior follows. Police had to assist EMS to safely manage the situation.

Awesome! The young adult who was involved in the triangle town center (mall) robbery and shooting is graduating today. America’s Future everybody.

Do you think a school district is getting a good value by spending $14,374.87 per graduation ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center? That works out to about $25 per graduate based on 500 students. * The total includes both facility rental and production services.

I had an appliance delivered today. It was a two man crew and only one spoke English. Both guys were nice, but man, it’s frustrating.

I bought a battery powered string trimmer three years ago. Since then, I have bought a new battery every year. At $150 a battery, I finally went back to a gas trimmer. The sound, the power, and no battery anxiety felt great.

Local outlets lost readers partly because people stopped trusting their framing, priorities, and selective coverage. The problem is not just “fewer journalists.” It is also whether the public believes the journalists they have. wral.com/about/what-is-news-…

While waiting for another ineffective process to begin, I have made a list of 14 pointless processes in the district. I’ve got 20 minutes to add more! 🤦🏼
At some point, I am going to share a Google Document of Pointless School Year Processes and pin it to my profile. Here are two so far:
