A 17-year-old girl has been stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital.
Officers were called to reports the girl had been assaulted in Brierfield, Lancashire, at 3.06pm on Friday, Lancashire Police said.
A 30-year-old man from the town was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is currently in custody.
The girl was taken to hospital for treatment, Lancashire Police said.
The force said her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, and she has been communicating with officers and medical staff

Police cordon in Lace Market Square after the attack in the early hours. The victim is being supported โ but as usual, no description of the attacker.
How many more British women must be violated before the government admits the invasion is destroying our streets?
