8A4 took their delayed #NationalNumberDay activity outside. We did a number hunt then sorted them based on properties in a giant Venn diagram!
Is there is a world record for the largest ever Venn diagram? @GWR?

In Ms Johnson’s Year 8 lesson today, Isabella and Jess completed their work on area of trapezia so then they designed some fiendish questions for everyone else!

One question from #NationalNumeracyDay was how to improve confidence. Many students said showing working is helpful to explain thinking and shows the teacher where you got stuck
Here our Y10s are doing exactly that with some tricky circle theorems!

We’re back from Bury and looking at all the data we gathered for #NationalNumeracyDay We even had time to stop by the fishmongers to ask about how to portion huge fish!
One of our students was telling them how he caught a 21lb carp this week! 👀

We’ve spoken builders, gardeners and a postman today for #NationalNumeracyDay as part of #BigNumberNatter. We found maths spilled into every profession we saw out in the community- look out for our presentation on what we discovered later this week!

Many people we’ve met in the community at @BuryMarket for #BigNumberNatter told us they use maths when handling cash and buying drinks so we had to try it out!
We visited a cafe and students enjoyed sampling the local produce!

Escape room puzzles challenge you to use problem solving skills and think outside the box.
We finished with 12mins38s left- that’s over a fifth of the time!
