Mass immigration is destabilising societies everywhere, but those in charge believe that pretending it isn't will make the problem disappear. Putting a lid on the volcano does not mean that it won't explode. This week's column on what happened in Belfast independent.ie/comment/opini…

They had publicly threatened to storm a synagogue and locals turned up to oppose them. But as ever, these masked heroes are the victims. Never trust any demonstrator who covers their face. It's a sign of both cowardice and malicious intent.

A cultured people, huge respect to the Japanese.
After Japan battled the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw, the Japanese fans stayed behind and cleaned up every single piece of trash from their section at Dallas Stadium after the game.

If this doesn’t wake you up to the staggering media bias in Ireland, I don’t know what will. This week the trial of the foreign national who stabbed there young children in Dublin started. No breaking news, no panel discussions and front page story,

Not one paper has the trial on the front page.

Great to see Eoin defending the right of doctors like Marcus de Brun (@indepdubnrth) to dissent from aspects of public health advice. (Liberal Ireland only likes dissidents when they're priests).
Disciplining doctors who failed to follow the party line during the Covid pandemic is inherently anti-scientific. This week’s @Independent_ie column independent.ie/comment/opini…

Well @talktojoeduffy is gone and instead @rte @kevinbakhurst have recruited a ‘safe pair of hands’ in the form of slithery Kieran Cuddihy. @rte is clearly determined it will pay back the government for its investment of €750million in the Montrose tower of mediocrity by never questioning state support for the Trans cult, nett zero, demonisation of Israel, and #OpenBorders migration from alien Sharia cultures and violent failed states..

Post here on how RTE quickly suppressed discussion of gender ideology four years ago. RTE etc like to tell us they got rid of John Charles McQuaid. They didn't. They replaced him and they can't see it.
Four years ago today was the last of three radio shows on @rte - thanks to @talktojoeduffy that permitted open discussion on gender identity. I was one of the speakers (c.42 minutes in). It was one of the most frazzled weeks of my life. Remember? RTÉ were called to appear before an Oireachtas committee, those of us who spoke voicing concerns about gender were compared to Putin on @IrishTimes by Una Mullally. We were demonised, trashed, and ultimately all discussion was silenced. RTE @rteliveline are now running scared and haven’t allowed open discussion since. dj.rte.ie/radio/radio1/livel…

Must-read from Sam Harris in @australian on why he refuses to engage in most Israel debates: because too often they start from false assumption that Israel is the problem, while ignoring the ideology that glorifies October 7, martyrdom and the destruction of the Jewish state.

Honestly these people are complete idiots and we just should not tolerate them telling us how to think & what to say. Sinn Féin can't even tell you what a woman is.

For obvious propagandistic reasons, Leaving Cert English invites students to imagine the 1980s were horrific. But you could do this to any decade including this one. You could start with recent beheadings, for example.
DAVID QUINN on the "ideological mission creep" in Leaving Cert subjects - including English where 1980s Ireland is painted as a time of patriarchal suppression and gothic horror. "This is not history. It is caricature," he says. gript.ie/david-quinn-how-the…

J.K. Rowling’s lowest point gave her a rock-solid foundation. Divorced, jobless, single parent, and broke, total failure by every usual standard. But hitting rock bottom stripped away everything fake and freed her. It taught her real strength, discipline, and who her true friends were. That dark time became the solid ground on which she built everything. Sometimes your biggest failure is exactly what you needed.

In the dozen or so programmes on Irish TV and radio discussing what happened in Belfast, no one talked about the attempted beheading or migrant crime. Every single one discussed the mainly loyalist vigilantes and violence. Be so nice if reporting was non-ideological.

RTÉ report about the Pope in Spain, says Leo upset the right by upholding dignity of migrants...no mention of the rage of the left to his defence of the right to life of the unborn, the elderly and of marriage. Media literacy, folks, is vital - check the frame, always.
