We had an awesome SF Bay Area DG member meet up today!
So good to hug old friends and meet new ones, catch up, and talk about the evolution of the design community and how we can support design managers.

Designer friends in the SF Bay Area: I am hosting a small gathering for Designers Guild (@Design_Guild) members on Saturday at 11am in Oakland!
Let's grab food, drinks, and catch up - come solo, or a designer friend or two.

Designers Guild is getting back together IRL, with a small, fully vaccinated gathering next Saturday in the San Francisco area.
DG members, what time works for you? (Also DM me if you want to join us!)
@Design_Guild
Anyone come across any interaction design, hci, sts work at the intersection of Klaus Krippendorff's product semantics and Philip Agre's critical technical practice?
Who else would you nominate as one of the top 16 UX designers in the industry?
Use the Feedback button at the bottom of the list when you do a Google search for “top UX designers”, to let Google know!

Google search results for 16 “top UX designers” is not diverse.
The one intersectionally diverse designer, @ireneau, doesn’t even have a photo.
The UX industry, and Google, can do better!
Join me in making this list more diverse by using the “Feedback” button at the bottom.
Many designers with 0-3 years of experience have had a hard time landing jobs.
So DG member Mike Deng created a free job directory containing 200 intern, new grad, and entry level fulltime UX roles aggregated from LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed!

In this week’s newsletter, I’m curating a list of the top talks that have shaped how I approach design. What are some talks that have inspired you? I’d love to include a few in the newsletter!
In my 1:1 with @callmejohnnie, we imagined what it’ll be like looking back at this @webflow design team years from now. This group will have futures heads of design, investors, inventors…whatever they dream.
I think of this future and it keeps me focused on what we do today.
Gratitude for all the keepers of the Designers Guild community experience, especially our members who flag content that doesn’t fit our guidelines! 🙏🏽
Excited to share I'll be speaking at @figmadesign's #config2021 about the universal challenges every scaling design team.
Growing teams all face similar problems and we'll talk about how to navigate it together. Hope to see you there!

When showing new design work, it's helpful to have a mini-retrospective and use the phrase "remember when" to sum the previous decisions made to get to this point. It sounds so simple, but many of us forget this, and go for the reveal. Crediting @mrbenburns_ for this goodness.
You're in a panic.
Your launch date is in a week. Your whole team's credibility is riding on your collective ability to make it happen. Leadership is Eye-of-Sauron-ing this project.
There's just one problem.
You suspect the product sucks.
What do you do? A thread 👇 (1/9)
